Kylie and Kendall Jenner
Sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner are the result of Kris Houghton’s second marriage, the first to Robert Kardashian producing 3 daughters (Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe) and a son (Rob). The Jenner sisters are daughters of Kris Houghton and Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce Jenner, Olympic gold medal winning decathlete) and therefore half-sisters to the Kardashian children, sharing the same mother.
Kylie Jenner
Kylie Kristen Jenner was born August 10, 1997, and is known today as a successful businesswoman (Kylie Cosmetics), reality television star (Keeping up with the Kardashians), model and social media influencer. With encouragement from her mother Kris, Kylie began her cosmetics line named Kylie Lip Kits and funded the manufacturing of her first product, which sold out within hours of the launch. It is believed that Kylie’s huge social media following (an estimated 100 million followers on Instagram) was responsible at least in part for the success of her Lip Kits, as her fans desire to emulate the ‘Kylie Lip’ had the product line flying out the door. Subsequent product releases have been well received, often selling out very quickly.
Kylie has extensive interest in many aspects of the beauty and fashion world, having collaborated with her sister on a clothing line named ‘Kendall and Kylie’, but it was the launch of her cosmetics company that made her one of the youngest successful businesswomen in the world, and having her worth estimated at $900 million, putting her in line to become one of the youngest billionaires.
Along with her sister Kendall, Kylie has been involved in the writing of a novel and the creation of a handbag and a shoe line for designer Steve Madden. Unfortunately, the novel was not a runaway success, and in fact, sold only 13,000 copies. Kylie Jenner is heavily involved in raising funds for charity, many of them for worthwhile causes in the greater Los Angeles area.
Kylie has a daughter (Stormi Webster) with her current love, rapper Travis Scott. Though her personal life may be going well, Kylie Jenner’s business dealings have drawn several lawsuits accusing her of stealing designs.
Kendall Jenner
Kendall Nicole Jenner was born November 3, 1995, and like her sister Kylie and the rest of her extended family was the subject of a hit television reality show Keeping up with the Kardashians. Kendall was well known and successful as a result of the show, resulting in her gaining a boost to her already successful modeling career both as an ad campaign model and on the fashion runway. Kendall’s success made her the highest paid model (according to Forbes magazine) in 2017, estimated to make $4 million per year.
Though Kendall Jenner has spent many years modeling for some of the biggest names in the fashion world, her business ventures now feature largely in her life. Her business career began with the creation and launch of 2 nail polish products for Kardashian Kolors nail colors line. A jewelry line followed a couple of years later, along with a handbag and shoe line in collaboration with designer label Steve Madden.
In 2016 Kendall Jenner decided to try her hand on the other side of the camera, becoming a professional photographer, making her launch into the public eye with images of famous model Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber.
The success of Keeping up with the Kardashians let to more television work for Kendall, including ad campaigns and more reality shows, appearances on music videos, and cameo appearances in the television show Hawaii Five-O and the big screen movie Ocean’s 8.
Like her sister Kylie, Kendall is also heavily involved in raising money to support her favorite charities, including the running of an eBay store that sells old clothing, the proceeds going to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Kendall Jenner is estimated to be worth $18 million and though she has had several serious relationships remains the only Kardashian-Jenner sister not to have children.
